CNC EDM wire cutting is both CNC machining and special machining. It is often used to process the die and punch of the stamping die, the tool electrode of the EDM, the workpiece template, the tool gauge, and the small and complex shape of the small workpiece or narrow gap. The sheets can be stacked and processed to obtain a consistent size.
The machining principle of CNC wire cutting:
Wire EDM is abbreviated as "wire cutting". It uses a moving thin metal wire (wire electrode) as a tool electrode, and applies a pulse voltage between the wire electrode and the workpiece, and uses the corrosive effect of pulse discharge to cut the workpiece. .
A pulse voltage is applied between the positive and negative electrodes, and a working fluid with a certain performance is continuously injected. When the gap between the two electrodes reaches a certain distance, the pulse voltage will break down the working fluid and generate spark discharge. A large amount of heat energy is generated at the moment of discharge, which makes the local trace metal materials on the working surface melt, vaporize, and splash into the working fluid immediately, forming solid metal particles, which are taken away by the working fluid. At this time, a tiny pit is left on the surface of the workpiece, the discharge is temporarily suspended, and the working fluid between the two electrodes is in an insulating state. Immediately after that, the next pulse voltage breaks down at another point where the two electrodes are relatively close to each other, generating spark discharge, and repeating the above process.
Under the condition of maintaining a constant discharge gap between the electrode wire and the workpiece, while eroding the workpiece metal, while controlling the workpiece to continuously feed the electrode wire, the workpiece can be gradually cut into shape along a predetermined trajectory.
